Follow-up Friday

maRRose - CCC --- Carter's Chevron Blanket-02You know that it’s not been an extremely good week crochet-wise when you have to think really hard, trying to come up with projects worked on during the past week (let alone projects that were finished)…..

Nonetheless, it was mostly a fun filled week, kicked off with a delightful yarny trip with lovely Miriam.
Our first stop was at “Wol” in Haarlem – we felt like kids in a candy store!

maRRose - CCC --- yarnlove-03It being market day here in Amstelveen, Miriam couldn’t possibly go home without visiting the famous “Wolman”, who carries a lot of my beloved “Alize”. It was there that I decided to get the first balls to – finally – begin Carter’s Chevron Blanket: three shades of grey, black, and a beautiful teal, all “Alize Superlana Midi” – a mix of acrylic (75%) and wool, supersoft and wonderful to crochet with.

The pattern I’m using is Ilaria Chiaratti‘s, to be found in the “Mollie Haken” book that I’ve had for a while (English equivalent here). It’s a fantastic project to be working on!

maRRose - CCC --- Keith Haring-Kunsthal-2015-20 maRRose - CCC --- Keith Haring-Kunsthal-2015-21We both enjoyed this exhibit tremendously, and we can highly recommend your going there!
I love Haring’s statement: “Art is for Everybody” – so true!
maRRose - CCC --- Keith Haring-Kunsthal-2015-13This week’s best news, however, is how well Carter’s foot is healing. Tuesday’s x-rays showed all hardware (plate, 2 pins, 7 screws) is still positioned perfectly, and the pieces of bone (taken from his hip early September) are growing nicely into place.
This resulted in him getting a cast and two crutches, with which he’s allowed to try and “walk”. To see him standing on two feet again after more than 3 months sure was a joyous moment……

Wishing you all a very happy weekend,
love,
Marianne xx

    • Thank you very much, Sheila – that’s very sweet of you! Oh, yes, we are! He still has a long, bumpy road ahead of him as far as recovery’s concerned, but we’re very happy with each stage that proves he’s on the right track. Marianne xx
