“Bétaille Blanket”

maRRose - CCC --- Bétaille Blanket-24Now this is most certainly one of the happiest “ta-dah”-posts ever ……
A close call too, to make it for this week’s “Follow-up Friday”: just a little over an hour ago I crocheted the very last stitch on this blanket and could start taking pictures (with which I’m pretty much going to bombard this blog post!).

If you’ve followed my “Bétaille Blanket”-journey over the past few weeks, you must have noticed that finishing this blanket was quite the undertaking. During the lengthy – and sometimes tedious – process I fell in and out of love with it several times.

Reading Nerissa’s comment last week – “a week of joining, yikes” – I obliviously thought it would take me (way) less than a week, but as it turns out her remark was spot on.
Joining 29 rows of 20 squares was all I did crochet-wise this past week …..

So, “only” 580 it is …..maRRose - CCC --- Bétaille Blanket-21 maRRose - CCC --- Bétaille Blanket-31 maRRose - CCC --- Bétaille Blanket-32I played with the thought of a colorful border – maybe by bringing back all 8 colors used in the blanket? – but decided against this once I was done joining. Tried a simple picot edging, but no ….. I think it’s pretty the way it is right now. Sometimes more really is less!
