After a busy week, it’s Friday again – time for an update on my old wip’s, well in fact that should say wiP – because the Bétaille Blanket is all I worked on, again ….
However, I’m very happy to report, that I gave the very last tiny square its colorful border yesterday afternoon. Happy, as this can only mean one thing: it’s joining time!! At last!!
I ended up with 8 zip bags, each filled with tiny squares that all had a different colored heart, but the same colored trim. Having made sure I had at least 70+ in each bag, I ended up with a leftover stack of about 100+ squares: a lot of purple and mint hearts, and a couple of the other colors. After I divided the leftovers kind of evenly over the 8 zips, I crocheted the last colorful rounds on those as well.
I kept track of the number of squares per bag throughout the whole process and was so surprised to find I had a total of exactly 600 squares!
Carter pointed out I owed this to Mila-the-wonderdog, who actually ate one of the squares some weeks ago ……
So now I’ve started to lay out the first rows, and my-oh-my: I love-love-love doing this and the pretty pictures it results in!
Also starting to realize this blanket is going to be pretty big – love that too ……
Next step is making kebabs per row (great tip from Susan over at Felted Button), and start crocheting these lovelies together!
Hoping for a big “ta-day” in next week’s “Follow-up Friday”,
enjoy your weekend,
Love,
Marianne xx
