Ahhh….. the happy feeling of another “ta-dah” and being able to tick one more old wip off the list! Presenting the latest triangle cushion, my “Candy Cushion”; to tell you the truth, I’m quite chuffed with how it turned out ……
I used my own tutorial to make the triangles, and crocheted 7 double ones, 6 single ones and 4 double half ones – if that makes any sense.
Making the double ones saved considerable time and effort in the sewing department (not my favorite when it comes to assembling triangles). I now “just” had so sew the diagonal sides together.
The black border is one round of single crochets (UK dc) and one round of double crochets (UK trebles). I then crocheted pom-poms in all 7 colors I used for the triangles, leaving the black out.
The cushion cover is machine sewed (using this fantastic tutorial, as always; it’s in Dutch, but Google Translate is your friend) and hand stitched the crochet part onto that.
Finally, I listed it in my Etsy-shop, hoping it will find a good home soon ;).
Other than completing the “Candy Cushion”, I managed to crochet some more “Rustic Lace Square”-hearts, a total of 12 is now waiting to get their last rounds and to be joined to the blanket.
Plus …… I’ve picked up the next old wip, my Crochet Mood Blanket that I started back in 2014. This past week I’ve joined 27 rectangular grannies to it, and have only some 80 more to go, haha!
I’m also in the process of translating one of Heike’s (MadewithLoops) most recent – and gorgeous, I can assure you – designs, to be released September 19th (more info here). All very exciting!
To add even more excitement to this week’s summary is the fact that I noticed my “Bétaille Blanket” receiving some more love on Dutch KreaDoe’s homepage, so pleased with that!
And last but most definitely not least, I want to thank you so much for your sweet comments and well wishes for Carter, here, on IG and FB – all so very much appreciated! He’s home since last Saturday, and slowly getting a bit better – meaning in less pain – and able to go short distances using his crutches and iWalk.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Love,
Marianne xx

Thank you so much for your beautiful compliment! Marianne xx
I read that you’d picked this mood blanket up again and it reminded of this blog by Maria Popova about Joan Miro and the pace of art .https://www.brainpickings.org/2015/09/17/i-work-like-a-gardener-joan-miro/
And thank you too for sharing this link with me – such an interesting article (and website as a matter of fact): I truly enjoyed reading it. Not that I’m comparing myself with a huge artist like Miró, but I do like the thought of me being a gardener, working on several projects at the same time …… Marianne xx
