I truly hope your weekend was as fun as mine!
You might want to get a coffee/tea, because I have a feeling this is going to be a rather lengthy post with lots of yummie yarn pictures I can’t wait to share with you …..
But, first things first: the pincushion winners! The orange/mint pincushion goes to: “RainbowJunkie” in the UK, and the peach one will be sent off to New Zealand, to Donna Martin – congrats, lovely ladies! Will you please email me your addresses, so I can get your little prizes in the mail to you (firstname.lastname@example.org)?
In my previous blog post I told you I was about to travel to the historic, and picturesque city of Delft, where the wonderful Francis (“Knottenwol”), Lisanne (“Draad en Praat”), and Lana Grossa had prepared the kind of party we – lovers of yarn – can only dream of ……
A “yarn tasting” of some of the absolutely beautiful and high quality yarns Lana Grossa carries!
To top it off, all in the company of 20 lovely like-minded, talented crocheters, knitters and otherwise creatives, bloggers, instagrammers – old friends, new friends – coffee, tea, cake, sandwiches, gosh it was simply fabulous.
Can you tell I’m still on a high?
There was a whole lot of fondling, oohing and aahing going on, as well as hands on crocheting – truly testing-testing-1-2-3 – and man, did we all like what we saw, fondled and worked with. One of the yarns that stood out of the wooly crowd was the “Lala Berlin – Hairy”, I think I can speak for most of us when I say we liked this one best, but also found it hardest to crochet with. Sascha seems to have had little problems so far, and already made a pretty cowl (more here). For more pictures of this fun event you can click here.
Of course we all had to browse Francis’ beautiful store “Knotten” as well, so way past the time we were actually supposed to leave (wine was brought in …..;)), we all went home, but not before we were given a truly amazing goodie bag – lucky, lucky us!
I honestly cannot wait to start something beautiful with all this loveliness ….. so many ideas running through my head.
When I came home, Quinn had not only prepared the birthday party she was throwing for her friends that night, but dinner as well – lucky me!
The party was a success, and after the team-clean-up on Sunday, we took our little black beauty to the beach …… bliss for all!
Mila was so happy (read: bouncy), it was impossible to take a photo of her that was nót blurry, so this is her this morning, still tired after yesterday’s excitement.
I so love weekends like this ……
Have a great week,
