tinySTUDIO creative life Magazine

This summer I was contacted by editor in chief of – beautiful! – online magazine “tinyStudio Creative Life” Suzy Brown.
She had found – and liked – my jeans jacket punch needle application-project on the blog (free pattern and tutorial here).

Not only the revival of punch needling, but also the fact that this particular project gave a thrift shop jacket a new life had caught her attention. Suzy was wondering if I’d be interested in designing a new punch needle project with a focus on ‘sustainability’ for the November issue of her magazine.

Really liking this approach I most definitely was, and quickly and smoothly we agreed upon the two (!) projects I’d be making for the magazine.
One is a decorative wall hanging, its only purpose being pretty 😉

The other one is a project bag that has the same flowery image punch needled onto it, making it both pretty and useful.

I loved making both! I’ve used an old pair of jeans that belonged to one of my kids for the hoop-art-project, which gives it that extra little sparkle of sentimental joy.
The jeans I used for the project bag is from our local thrift store, “The Boomerang” – such an apt name – that only cost me € 5,=. The lining in the bag comes from my mother’s stash of fabrics that I inherited, thus adding a touch of personal happy to this project too.

When I got my online copy of “tinyStudio Creative Life”-magazine last week I was SO thrilled to flip through it: it is truly gorgeous, and so very informative! As I understand from the team, this issue is one of their largest yet with over 120 pages of beautiful inspiration, projects, and creativity boosts. I love it, and I’m very proud to be part of it!

Here’s where you go for a preview of the current issue, and this is where you subscribe. To get an even better insight, there is actually a complete issue for free (!) on the Fibery Goodness-site (the magazine’s makers) – just click here to go there.

All in all this was such a fun ride – I loved every step of the way!

Happy making and happy weekend, sweet people!

  • Absolutely gorgeous, Marianne ! I hadn’t realised that one works also with thread, believing punch-needle work to be all yarn. How wrong I was ! – and how beautiful this is !
I’ve downloaded the special edition and will derive much pleasure, I am sure, from perusing it.

    • Thank you so much, Margaret! Punch needle offers such a great variety of yarn/fabric to work with; it’s one of the (many) reasons why I love it so much. Ah, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the magazine: it’s made with lots of love, and it shows! Love, Marianne xx
