When I picked up crochet again in 2010, my first project was a granny square blanket, and the next one a hexagon blanket.
I have no idea why, but for some reason I thought that blanket making was the thing a crocheter did.
That is, until I started exploring the internet: wow! So many amazingly beautiful things that could be done with a hook and some yarn …..
Surely but slowly I’ve begun crocheting things that I never thought of as being a hookable possibility, branching out from blankets (here, here and here) to pillows (here, here and here), shawls, flowers for a teacosy, and I’ve even crocheted some dolls.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed this crochet journey so far and knowing the end of this creative trip is no where near makes me a happy-hooky-camper!
Making these treasuries every week is something I’ve become very fond of doing, although it can make me feel a bit overwhelmed at times too.
So many things to add to the crochet wish list …..
I’ve just finished three dolls as a gift – will blog about them later this week – and they were this week’s Treasury Tuesday inspiration: enjoy!
Love,
Marianne xx
My comfort zone seems to be blankets, squares, washcloths, scarves and hats! I swear I need to branch out! I must! But I think my branching thus far has gone to knitting, and again simple things. Maybe this year, next…I will change my MOO…..method of operation! Lol!! Sandy
There’re just way too many fun and gorgeous projects out there waiting to be made by us, Sandra! As long as you’re enjoying what you’re doing, I don’t think you have to change your MOO! Marianne xx
Lol!!! Thanks! xx
I love making blankets too – there’s something very comforting about mindless rows of crocheting without having to concentrate.
Oh, yes, definitely – it’s one of the (many) positives of crochet: the meditative motion of repeating row, after row, after row ….. Marianne xx
