Yesterday was “Kingsday” in The Netherlands – a national holiday full of festivities in honor of our King Willem-Alexander’s birthday.
The Dutch royal family stemming from “the House of Orange-Nassau“, orange has become the color that every Dutch person wears when there’s a reason to celebrate nationwide.
So ….. orange it is for this Treasury Tuesday!
Totally unrelated to Treasury Tuesday, but definitely a reason to celebrate a tiny bit: the talented and lovely Lisanne (“Draad en Praat”-blog) has published a mini-interview with me on her beautiful blog today! Woohoo – I’m honored and as pleased as punch. The interview is in Dutch, but Google translate does a pretty good job (and produces some hilarious phrases too ……).
Have a great week!
Love,
Marianne xx
Great selection – I love orange! I’m going to go and give Google translate a chance now:)
Thanks – I do too; such a happy color! Oh, haha, that should be interesting …. Marianne xx
PS: I noticed there’s at least one word that gets an excellent translation – in Dutch the word for someone who crochets is: “haakster”, -ster referring to a woman, -er would refer to a man. Google translated this as “hook star” and I kinda like that …….
Thank you for commenting in my blog, I have read your blog for so long, so i got a bit starstruck, when I saw your comment 🙂 Orange is the new black, they say, and I do love orange!
You are welcome to share at my link up tomorrow.
Thank you so much, Monica, that is such a sweet thing to say!
Oh, how nice – thanks – I do like a link up every once in a while! Marianne xx
